The making of a muralThese photos show some of the stages involved in the production of a "hare and poppies" mural. 1) Terracotta clay tiles have been cut up and "slipped" with white clay. Here they are left to dry.
2) They are laid out and the design sketched out. 3) Painting is done using coloured clay in layers. Photo to follow 4) Fine lines are drawn in with a needle. Photo to follow 5) After drying and first firing, more colour is added if needed.
6) The mural is glazed. Photo to follow 7) On the wall!
